You know that movie that you’ve seen at least 100 times that no matter when it comes on you have to watch it again? I have several of those. So I had to break them down into lists. This list is my “rain or shine" list. If it comes on, I’m watching it. Rain or shine!

9 to 5- Two words. Dolly.Parton. This film is hilarious. Before Thelma and Louise it was these chicks kicking the ass of their sexist boss. They smoked some weed, maybe stole a dead body, whipped a business into shape, and basically went HAM. Timeless.

The Color Purple- "All my life I had to fight.” I know that I am not the only who cries everytime they watch the scene where Celie and Nettie are separated. And then of course when they reunite. It shreds me. Every.Single.Time. Oh, and the book was even better. Thank you Alice Walker.

Forrest Gump-This is a classic. I don’t think there is much more I can say about that.

Scarface- “Say hello to my little friend”. I love crime movies and this one is at the top of my favorite crime films list. It’s ‘80s excess, sexiness, drug dealers, and an Italian actor playing a Cuban drug lord. I discovered this movie a long time ago, and I still love it to this day.

Schindler’s List- The holocaust is a really tough subject and a stain on the history of humankind. This film is an incredibly powerful portrayal of that period in world history. Every time it comes on, I am literally riveted. It's based on a true story. It’s dark and redemptive, and really, really, special.

What's your top 5 "rain or shine" movie list? Please share!

Have I said too much? I'd love to hear from you.

Nia
